Brand guidelines

OOH Central
brand kit.

Everything the team and external partners need to produce on-brand material. Logo files, colour palette, type system, clear space, and don'ts.

01 — Logo system

The mark.

v7b-tight is the locked-in lockup as of 2026-04-21. "OOH!" in Satoshi Black with a pink exclamation, "central." in Instrument Serif italic underneath. The exclamation flips colour per surface so all three brand colours appear across pink and yellow backgrounds.

02 — Icon mark

For small spaces.

When the full lockup is too small to read (favicons, social avatars, email signatures, app tiles), use the OOH! glyph alone. Square avatar version uses a pink field.

03 — Clear space & min size

Give it room.

Minimum padding around the logo equals the cap height of the "O" — let nothing crowd it. Minimum render size for the full lockup is 24px tall; below that, switch to the icon mark.

Clear space = cap height of the "O" on every side.

24px — minimum for full lockup 16px — minimum for icon mark

Below 24px, the italic "central." stops reading. Switch to the icon.

04 — Don'ts

Never do this.

✗ Don't stretch or distort.

✗ Don't rotate or tilt.

✗ Don't recolour the mark. Use the surface variants provided.

✗ Don't add drop shadows, glows, or effects.

✗ Don't place over busy imagery without a solid plate.

✗ Don't use the wrong surface variant (on-black logo on a pink field).

05 — Colour palette

Three signature, three workhorse.

Pink, yellow, and black are the signature. No pastels. Cream is the default editorial background, white is for cards/contrast, charcoal is a secondary text colour.

Pink #FF0050 Signature accent. The exclamation. Calls to action.
Yellow #FFD600 Counter-accent. Newsletter blocks, takeover surfaces.
Black #0A0A0A Primary type colour. Header surface. Anchors the system.
Cream #FFF8ED Default editorial background. Warmer than white.
White #FAFAFA Card surfaces, search field, contrast against cream.
Charcoal #2A2725 Secondary type colour. Use sparingly when full black is too heavy.

06 — Type system

Four families. No exceptions.

Satoshi for display, Instrument Serif for editorial italic, Instrument Sans for body, JetBrains Mono for data. Inter, Space Grotesk, Roboto, Montserrat — all forbidden. They're what the old site used.

Satoshi Black

Display. Headlines. Wordmark. Nav. Anything that needs to read from across the room.

07 — Voice / tone

How it sounds.

Tagline: "At the Centre of OOH: Inform. Inspire. Grow."
Headline: "Africa's Out of Home Pulse."
Brand promise: editorial-first, sponsor-aware, never adtech-y.

  • Direct. Plain words, brutalist clarity. No jargon padding.
  • Insider, not gatekept. We know the industry, we share what we know.
  • Pan-African by default. Stories aren't "from" South Africa unless stated; they're from the continent.
  • Sponsorship is content-native. No banner ads, no display networks, ever.
